Privacy policy

Last updated 20 October 2026. A solicitor should review this before VoucherQR takes live customer data.

1. Who we are

VoucherQR sells QR pet tags and an optional Protect plan. This policy describes the demo and the product we intend to run. A solicitor should review it before real customer data is collected.

2. What finders can see

A public pet page never includes the owner’s phone number or email. The full home address stays off that page unless the pet is missing and you have chosen to show it. Last-seen maps use an area about 500 metres across, not an exact point.

3. Why we hold data

Account and alert details are kept to perform the contract. Marketing is only sent with consent. Finder location is shared with the owner only after the finder chooses to send it. Fraud checks, when they are switched on, use legitimate interests.

4. How long we keep it

Scans and finder messages: 24 months. Closed missing reports: 24 months. Message logs: 12 months. Invoices and payments: 6 years. IP addresses are stored only as a hash with a salt that changes each day.

5. Processors

GoCardless, Stripe, Twilio, Royal Mail, postcodes.io, Amazon Web Services, Sentry and Postmark are the intended processors. They only receive customer data when their credentials are set in the server environment. Until then, payments, messages and shipping stay on the local app. In production, UK postcodes are looked up through postcodes.io.

6. Your rights

From Account you can download a copy of your household data or close the account. You can also write to hello@voucherqr.example. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
